We left Prairie Creek and headed north on 101 towards Oregon. We came to the “Trees of Mystery” and had to stop as it's a place Connie remembers going to as a kid when she lived in Arcata. We didn't take the “tour”, but we did hit the gift shop. They also have a pretty good private collection of Native American artifacts. 
It didn't take a long time to get to Harris Beach State Park just north of the town of Brookings Oregon. The campground is very nice. There are about 7 spaces that have ocean views, but of course they were all taken. We got into a space just across from the really good ones. There are trails to the beach, showers, full hook-ups in some spots, and Wi-Fi throughout the campground. We're roughing it now. They did have a cougar sighting a few days ago (the four legged kind Zorro).
We went down to the beach and spent some time sitting and r
eading. I had to take a picture with my feet in it – Allena has one like this. The weather is exceptional for the coast, from noon until about 4:00 there was very little wind and it was in the low seventies. It's not going to be as cold here at night either. We are going to check out Brookings in the morning, and then probably drive up the coast a bit.

The overall natural pristine beauty of that beach shot contrasts nicely against the extremely cruel cynicism of the person whose shoes are in the picture... ;)

When I saw the pics of Paul Bunyan I thought you took a wrong turn and ended up in Minocqua, WI!
I can just imagine you and Connie sitting on the beach, looking at creation...holding hands, and thinking about all the changes you are going to make when head to Investigations.
I looked at the pictures before reading and laughed when I saw the feet - Where's the toes, playing it safe huh :) . Use it as a screensaver and you will always be there :)
